Our Story
By: Dave & Amanda (Witter) Myers

As a little girl, my Mother would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My reply was always the same, "I want to be a Mommy." Dr. Sweet played a major role in making this dream become reality.

Dave had a [vasectomy] reversal performed that did not prove to be successful. After a year of trying to gt pregnant, Dave and I decided to discuss our options with a fertility specialist. With the help of a doctor friend, we researched specialists and found Dr. Sweet to be one of the top in his field and also highly recommended by past patients. After initial interviews and testing, Dr. Sweet's explanations of choices were explicit and forthright. From that day on, we were completely comfortable with our care being left in his hands. There was no false hope, no stories, just the plain and sometimes hard facts.

Our chose was IVF. Immediately, Dr. Sweet, as well as his amazing staff, began educating us on this intense process. At first, the procedure sounded incredibly intricate and painful but worth even the slightest chance of success. Step by step, with the help of many friends, family and nurses, we made it through the procedures without one complication or thought of regret.

I will never forget the day of my pregnancy test. After taking the test, I had to spend an entire day at school. I gave Dave instructions to call me as soon as he heard anything. We had played phone tag between classes. Driving home, I kept calling him and getting a busy signal. I feared for the worse thinking he wanted to tell me the bad news in person. As I drove up the driveway, he stood there with thumbs up.

That was the second happiest day of my life. The happiest day of my life was on Sunday, June 9, 2002, at 10:46 pm, with the birth of our son, Hayden Christopher Meyers.

We would like to extend a heartfelt "thank you" not only to Dr. Sweet, but also his entire staff, from the front desk to all the wonderful caring nurses: Misty, Emily, Kim and Vicki. Their untiring smiles and support is what makes an organization like yours truly successful in every way. Thank you again and I am sure we will be back.

Sincerely,

David and Amanda Meyers

Comment From Dr. Sweet:
I think what I recall most about this case was how straight forward everything was and well it went. Issues were suspected and quickly identified and decisions were made quickly. The ART procedure itself went well with the only disappointment occurring because we did not have any excess embryos to cryopreserve for future use.

Within less than five months of their first visit, Amanda was pregnant. Pretty quick compared to some of our less fortunate couples....

This will be a much-loved child and we look forward to taking care of this couple again in the future (watch out for twins!).
